Yes — the weighted metal grip holds without slipping on both fine and thick hair, where lighter plastic clips tend to slide. For very thick hair, section it before clipping for the firmest hold.

Not with normal use — smooth edges and a firm-but-not-sharp grip hold hair without snagging. Avoid forcing it closed on more hair than it’s built for.

 A weighted metal clip does both — it reads as jewellery for the hair while gripping firmly. The Clamp (AU) is a gold metallic clip, minimalist in look but built to hold, so it works as a statement piece and a functional clip at once.
